About
Linden Hyacinthus is a video editor and artist based in Adelaide, Australia. They have been involved in the creative arts throughout their entire life and have chosen video editing as a form through which to focus their creative energies.Video editing began as a hobby, but through study of their Diploma of Screen and Media, they discovered a passion for the craft. Linden spent two years studying a Bachelor of Digital Media before transferring to a Bachelor of Film and Television where he is currently studying to further their skills and develop his portfolio. He is simultaneously working on a number of personal projects, including a longer-term docuseries he plans to develop further.Though film and video are Linden’s main focus, they enjoy exploring other artistic mediums as the desire arises with particular interest in photography, graphics and the written word. As a queer disabled artist, Linden especially enjoys working on projects with a queer or social justice focus but will give their all to any project he’s involved with.

The Proud Parade - Mini Documentary
A short documentary about a part of Adelaide's queer history. Made as a part of study in Bachelor of Digital Media but also as proof of concept for the planned docuseries. Interview with Will Sergeant. Additional sound pass planned in future.

The Heart in My Hands - Short
A queer woman struggles to control her heart in an effort to fit in with her religious family, taking drastic action in an attempt to subdue it.A short film I wrote, pre-produced, directed and edited as part of my Bachelor of Digital Media.
July in Florence - Travel Video
In late June/July I had the opportunity to travel to Florence through my university to study photography.I applied for and received a scholarship for the trip under which I was to create a "travelogue" based on the trip. I storyboarded parts of the project and left others up to experimentation. The final product was both filmed and edited by me.
2023
Blue - 3-Minute Short
A short film I wrote, directed, filmed, edited and acted in as a part of my Bachelor of Digital Media. Requirements were to create a 3 minute film with no dialogue filmed within your own home.I chose to create a more experimental film, using a blue ribbon as a metaphor for the negative impact of societal gender roles and norms, especially for transgender individuals.
2022
Sisyphus and the Death of God - Short
A short film I wrote, directed and edited near the end of my Diploma in Screen and Media. The film was crewed by my classmates, named in the end credits.Sisyphus and the Death of God is an absurdist film which explores the question of god in a world full of tragedy. It explores the feeling of powerlessness as one watches horror after horror occur through the news and social media.
